[Announcement] New website is live!

Over the past month and a half, I’ve been working feverishly on redesigning and rebuilding the Mochi website from scratch — including a complete rewrite of the documentation. I’m very happy to finally announce that the new site is live!

Some of you may have noticed a drop in the usual frequency of updates to the app during this time, and I apologize for that and want to thank you all for being patient while I got this update live.

Checkout the new site: https://mochi.cards/ and for technical details, I've written up a short blog post on the migration here: https://mochi.cards/blog/the-new-website-is-live/

The next step will be updating the forums to match the new layout.

Hey Matt.

Congratulations on the relaunch! I love that you kept the design spirit.

The interactive demo on the home page caught me off guard, as it was showing my actual Mochi account, while still thinking it was a screenshot!

I usually don't like electron apps, but Mochi made me reconsider. The tight integration between native apps and the web makes Electron apps do crazy-nice things like this interactive demo.

Looking forward to your future updates.

Yeah, the web platform definitely has some advantages! You can do some cool stuff like embedding the app in an iframe in other sites as well. For example there are query params you can use to embed the app and load straight to the review screen for a published deck.

I also have plans for embedding example cards and things like that in the docs.

Waay back on the original version of the site I also used the embedded app as the "hero screenshot." In that version I actually hosted the embedded version as a separate app with some preloaded decks/cards so even users with an account would see the "demo version".

I might bring that back if I have time, but it probably doesn't matter since people with an account already probably don't need to be "sold" on Mochi with an in-site demo.
