Would it be possible to make the iOS app support a red counter badge (on the icon) indicating the number of cards due today (perhaps including new cards too) and send push notifications when there are cards due?

I saw that there is an option to make it trigger a daily push notification at a certain time, but I don't want this to happen when there are no cards due, that would be noise.

Is there any technical difficulty in achieving this? I have a feeling you might have thought about this by now :)
