If possible, I'd like to see some kind of feature to temporarily pause reviews, or maybe "freeze" them in a certain state for a little while so they don't pile up.
I'm going on a trip next month and accessing my cards/doing reviews will be really difficult, and I'm really dreading the amount of reviews that will stack up and be overdue while I'm gone (~2 weeks). It would be really great to be able to pause my reviews so that when I come back, they'll be in essentially the same state they were when I left. E.g., if I leave on April 8th and have 40 reviews due on April 9th, I could come back home on April 24th and have those same 40 reviews due next time I open Mochi.
I'm not sure how well I'm explaining this but essentially, some kind of way to stop reviews from piling up (into the triple digits!) due to outside circumstances would be really nice to have. (I was thinking as a temporary solution maybe I could export the sql file on the last day before my trip, copy it, and then when I get back, replace the post-vacation sql file with the old one to reset the reviews, but I don't know if that would actually work...)
Thank you!
A similar suggestion came up a few months ago which I addressed here: https://forum.mochi.cards/posts/212/daily-review-limits
The suggestion is slightly different, but the principle for why I don't add such features is essentially the same; they are incompatible with spaced repetition systems.
However, while writing this reply I had an interesting idea. I could break down the "Due today" section into "Due today" and "overdue". This would allow users to go through their "due today" cards as normal, and then optional go through some amount of overdue cards until they are caught up.
