Smooth importing from Anki? (w/ custom templates)

Sorry if this post doesn't make sense as I'm not 100% sure how to phrase my question, but basically: is there a way to make it so that, when a card is imported from Anki (and this card has a custom template in Anki), the template it uses (and the associated info) will smoothly match a preexisting custom template in Mochi?

(/TLDR: how do I import a card from Anki in such a way that, when the card is imported, it will be in my custom Mochi template? Is that even possible?)

This is my custom Mochi template for Japanese cards:

Term and definition are probably self-explanatory; Furigana is probably also self-explanatory (it generates automatically from Term, also); AltReads is for 1. if the furigana reading is wrong and/or 2. if it's a kanji card (so I can add both 訓読み and 音読み); KanRad is where I link to kanji/radicals that make up the Term. In practice it turns out like this:

I like my template a lot and do not want to stop using it. However, I've recently been experimenting with using yomitan to quickly create Anki cards, and then export those cards from Anki, into Mochi, to make the card-adding process faster. I haven't been able to crack the problem of Anki cards importing like this:

The formatting and furigana are both wrong. Here's the template the imported cards come with:

I've been fiddling around, trying to get the template within Anki to more closely resemble the Mochi one, but it still looks wrong and at this point I'm not sure it's actually possible lol. Has anyone done this kind of thing successfully before/have any ideas about it? Or should I throw in the towel?

Unfortunately I don't think there's really any good way to achieve this. The Anki importer will create a new template each time a collection is imported.

A couple of things that come to mind:

  1. Export as a CSV in Anki, then edit the CSV to match the existing template in Mochi.
  2. Forking Yomitan and adding a Mochi export or Mochi API option.
  3. Using the Mochi web clipper to create cards directly through the API (you will need to have a Pro account and set up your template to use dictionary and furigana fields).

Honestly the web clipper looks like it would be perfect but non-essentials are not in the budget right now. :( Not nearly tech-inclined enough to do the Yomitan thing, and I've been trying to mess with the option today but haven't really made progress. I'll see if I can fuss over it a little more on the weekend and maybe get somewhere, but I might have to just stick with how I've already been doing things. Thanks either way Matt!
