When reviewing new cards, if I swipe left (meaning 'I don't remember'), does this add the card to my review schedule?
I'm asking because I've only seen a scheduling confirmation in the UI when I swipe right ('I remember') on a new card.

No the new cards are not added to the schedule until you are able to remember them once.

It will count it as "incorrect for today". If you get it wrong again during re-review, it will count as another miss, and the interval will reset to 1 day.
Follow up on this question: If I get a card wrong, then review my missed cards later today and get it right, does the system count it as 'correct for today' or still 'incorrect for today' when deciding when to show it next?
