iOS Syncing Takes Extremely Long Time and Never Finishes

Hi,

I've been a Mochi Flashcards user for several years.

I'm experiencing a serious syncing issue on iOS. Syncing works normally on the desktop app, but on my iPhone the sync process is extremely slow.

Recently, I opened the iOS app for the first time in about three months. I left the app open for more than two hours, but syncing still has not completed and appears to be stuck.

My cards do not contain images, but each card includes an audio file. I suspect that these audio files may be the reason why syncing takes so long.

When studying on mobile, I do not need to listen to the audio files, so I would prefer not to sync audio files to iOS if possible. However, I could not find any setting that allows me to exclude audio files from syncing.

Is there any way to skip syncing audio files on iOS, or any other way to resolve this issue?

Thank you.

@Nako‭ The audio file syncing is very likely not the issue as syncing attachments happen in the background.

What I would recommend is deleting the app and re-installing to re-sync from scratch. A full re-sync after a fresh install should only take a few minutes at the most (for most users it will take less than a minute). Unfortunately due to the way that incremental syncing works today, it is much slower than a full sync from a fresh isntall, especially after several months of changes have built up.
