Mochi

Export/import on mobile?

So I just upgraded to a new phone (woohoo) and am trying to set everything up, including Mochi. I don't have the Pro subscription so it doesn't sync automatically, but I figured I could go on my old phone, export everything in the Mochi format, then move whatever the resulting file is over to my new phone and have it all good to go.

But when I ask it to export on my old phone (iPhone XR, iOS 17.6.1; "Include review history" and "Include subdecks" both checked), it has the "exporting..." popup with the progress bar, and once the progress bar is full, the whole app turns white and reloads, and I have no idea where the export is supposed to be. I can't find it in the native Files app, which is where I would expect it to be - does it save somewhere else? Is it not saving at all? Is there something really simple and obvious that I'm missing (wouldn't be surprised)?

TLDR - Trying to export everything as a mochi file on my old phone so I can import it all on my new phone, export process seems to go all the way but then there's no sign of a file when it's done. Any tips/ideas?

This sounds like an out of memory error. I actually have a fix for this in the development branch and will be releasing that soon. In the meantime a workaround would be to export the SQLite file, load that into the desktop version of Mochi, and then export from the desktop app.

See here for where to put the SQLite db file: https://mochi.cards/docs/faq/#where-does-mochi-store-data-on-my-computer

That worked, thank you so much! :)
