4 years user's question

I've been using Mochi for 4 years. Everything else is nearly perfect, but two issues have been bothering me:

  1. I drag and drop cards to sort them on my computer. When I import them into the mobile app, I like to review all my cards from start to finish each time. When I tap the "New Card" button, the first review goes through the cards in order from start to finish, but the order seems to get messed up afterwards. I have selected Cam mode and set sorting to "creation date," but when I drag newly added cards to the middle of the existing cards, those new cards end up at the end when I use Cam mode. This breaks the logical flow of the content I need to memorize. I hope the sorting can follow the order I drag and drop on the computer mochi program.

  2. I use iOS. For example, if a deck has 50 cards and I stop after reviewing 25 cards by putting the app in the background, when I reopen the app after some time, I have to start all over again from the beginning.

Hi Matt, Thanks for sticking with Mochi for such a long time!

I'll try to answer your questions as best I can here. If I misunderstood something, please let me know.

When I tap the "New Card" button, the first review goes through the cards in order from start to finish, but the order seems to get messed up afterwards.

The "new cards" review screen orders cards according to whatever sorting rule is set on that deck's page. The default sort order is "manual" (ie drag and drop cards to define their relative order in the deck).

When reviewing cards that are due, (ie "due today" or "inbox") the sort order is random and cannot be changed.

I have selected Cam mode and set sorting to "creation date," but when I drag newly added cards to the middle of the existing cards, those new cards end up at the end when I use Cam mode.

That would make sense as dragging a card to rearrange its sort order does not change its creation date. Use manual sorting instead.

I use iOS. For example, if a deck has 50 cards and I stop after reviewing 25 cards by putting the app in the background, when I reopen the app after some time, I have to start all over again from the beginning.

Cram sessions do not persist between app restarts, so if the app exits while being backgrounded, you will lose your cram session progress.
